Can’t find anything better for the price

At this price, this machine is a steal. It has the capability of a full-fledged computer and the convenience of an extremely portable laptop. At just over 5 lbs. it’s certainly heavier than a tablet, a Macbook Air or an ultrabook, but then again it has all the advantages of a “real” computer. Responsiveness is outstanding since Windows 7 is a great OS, certainly when compared to Vista. Even compared to Apple’s OS X, Windows 7 performs quite well, although it is of course much more “labor intensive”, which is another way of saying that it’s not quite as user friendly. On the plus side, it provides what is possibly the most widely used software platform in the world. All in all you can’t go wrong with this device if you are looking for something that provides heavy lifting computing power as compared to a tablet or even an ultrabook.

Basic Laptop with great features

Bought one of these a few weeks ago to use for a sports club I administer. Needed a simple machine to do basic tasks- e-mail, web browsing, word processor….and to run a sports meet software. Great machine for these basis tasks. Price point is super, cheaper than many tablets or even in some cases a cell phone, and much more capable. Tested WiFi in an area where most cell phones and computers have trouble with weak signal, and this works great. Runs cool, battery life even with the basic battery is good, and weight is light enough to make it easily used on a…laptop. HDMI output is great, I hooked this up to my projector with no issues. Connectivity options for USB, HDMI, eSATA great for this price range. Overall this is a great price on a premium brand laptop with super solid features.

You get what you pay for…..

I purchased this set of double points (as well as some circulars and straights from the same company) not long after I started knitting. I’ve read a number of reviews glowing about how wonderful the needles are and that they are comparable to Clover needles. There is really not much of a comparison as the Clover needles are by far a higher quality than these. These needles are not nearly as smooth as other bamboo needles – these needles seem to be more porous – it seems like they need additional sanding or some wax to smooth them out. It is sometimes difficult to get the yarn to slide off the needles, even though I tend to be a loose knitter. The smaller size needles (3 and below) are very flimsy, so I wouldn’t recommend using these for sock knitting. Some of the needles I’ve used have gotten splintery which causes the yarn to catch on the needle.

On the positive side, if you typically just need double point needles for small projects such as decreases on hats, or just getting the center started on a circular piece of knitting such as a pi shawl, then these might be a good purchase for you. These may also be good for knitters that worry about dropping a needle or stitches with slippery DPNS. You can’t beat the price – which is the main reason I’m giving it 3 stars – any more expensive and I’d be giving them a 2.

PS: I think that there is someone out there (most likely from the manufacturer or distributor) who has been noting negative reviews for these products as “unhelpful”.

An excellent value

I am extremely pleased with my 7″ double pointed bamboo knitting needles. They are very smooth and have good points at a very affordable price. I finished off the top of a hat with a set of these needles (#4) and could not tell the difference between the Oriental Touch needles and my usual Clover needles. I believe the point on Clover needles are more tapered and a bit sharper but I sure didn’t notice much difference when I used them.

Additional comments: I have since done some knitting with the #8 and #2 needles. The points of the #8 needles varied from needle to needle. They are nicely tapered and easy to use but some needles had sharper points than others.

The Oriental Touch needles just don’t feel quite as firm as the Clovers. They have a little bit of flex which does not bother me at all with the sizes above #3. I can really notice the difference in firmness in sizes #1 and #2 when I compare them to my set of Clover #2 5″ needles which just feel firmer.

I started a sock on the Oriental Touch #2 needles and they are working just fine. The flexibility of the needles is a bit annoying and I have the nagging feeling that one of will eventually snap through some sort of a mishap. The #1 and #2 needles are the only needles that made miss using Clovers, the difference is not as noticeable in the larger sizes.

This is a great way to get a full set of double pointed needles. I love having them since it is hard to find any double pointed needles in my immediate area. It is a great to be able to start projects and know I have the double points that I need. This set will probably pay for itself in a few months.

The Oriental Touch service is fabulous. The needles were shipped from the West Coast to the East Coast. I ordered them early on a Monday and the needles arrived by mail on Wednesday. The needle packaging was very basic but they were ship quickly and the needles arrived in fine shape.

Good value for the price!

For the price, this is a fantastic set of DPNs. They do have some minor issues — I think that the points could be a bit sharper, and mine do bend quite easily. However, I’ve completed a couple of projects on mine, and they’ve turned out just fine. I’d highly recommend these for the casual knitter who doesn’t want to spend a ton of money on needles they’re not going to use all the time.

The seller also shipped the needles quickly and with good packaging. I would buy from them again.

Excellent value, BUT 1) measure your sink and 2) know that better prices can be found….

I have had this cutting board in my Amazon cart for a while and was pleasantly surprised to find it for $12.99 at my local T J M a x x. I love that it covers both burners on my stove and allows me to pick up the board w/ prepped food on it and set it on the burners while I cook on the burners on the other side. It makes it super easy to add ingredients and have everything ready to go. It also looks really nice on the stove top. It doesn’t fit over my double bowl sink, which was disappointing. By the measurements given, it should have, but you actually lose about an inch from the sides of the board and for my sink, that inch made all the difference, because I have a cast iron sink with a big rolled edge and it doesn’t quite make it… but I imagine it would probably fit over a standard or recessed kitchen sink with no problem. The bamboo is nice quality, and while and it’s not butcher block thick, the entire thing is nice and even with no warping. I oiled it right away and am pleased with the way my knives cut on it, it’s a nice work surface and looks good, too. I was actually ready to buy it for $24.99, but just happened upon a better deal…so if you can’t find it for cheaper, I’d still say that it would be well worth the $25. I’m giving it 4 stars rather than 5 because I think if they had made this just about an inch longer and another inch deeper it would fit the larger double bowl sinks as well as cover a bit more surface area on the stove top when you are using it for that purpose. But it comes very, very close to 5 stars for my money!

One caveat- I had this over my 2 burners and preheated my oven, and the board got VERY hot from the vent at the back of my rangetop as the oven was preheating. I was nearby and got it off before the wood darkened or warped, but I do think if I had left it on while the oven was working, the board would have gotten too hot. So make sure you take it off the stove top before you turn the oven on . I would love to find another one to cover the other 2 burners when you have company drop by and your stove is a mess! If I can’t find another locally I will most likely be ordering one from Amazon!

This is a good one!

We recently downsized, and counter space is premium at our new home. I love the size and versatility of this cutting board! I use it in conjunction with colored cutting mats that have similar measurements; and, I most often use it right on the stove top as I’m chopping and adding ingredients to the pot or skillet. Otherwise, I use it for cutting pizza or bread. Very convenient and just right for my needs.

Organizes my utensils brilliantly

I got so sick of looking at my old cheap silverware holder so I decided to buy a new one. I absolutely love this utensil organizer.

I simply snapped in the holders into the grooves and I was ready to organize. The larger right side of the tray can be adjusted which is a great touch. I can stack a maximum of 6 silverware pieces into each adjustable silverware slot (total of 36).

I highly recommend this product.

Finally, fits in the drawer!

I’ve had a heck of a time finding a utensil organizer that would fit in my itty-bitty kitchen drawers. This one does – just barely, but that’s good enough for me! It’s pretty nifty, too, with the movable clips and the expandable side. More useful for silverware than kitchen gadgetry and larger utensils.

great for narrow drawers

I have a narrow drawer (about 10 inches wide) and this organizer is perfect for these old drawers! It expanded to fit the drawer perfectly. The only improvement would be to make it a little more expandable in the length as well as the width. The silverware fits perfectly into the little holders and the non-skid buttons on the bottom keep the organizer from sliding when opening/closing the drawer. I love this organizer more than any I have ever used!
